As I went through Viridian Forest I caught myself a Weedle and a Caterpie. Evolved them into Kakuna and Metapod and had many fun Kakuna vs. Kakuna, Metapod vs. Metapod and Kakuna vs. Metapod battles. I got to a point where I started to enjoy them. In the middle of all that hardening I came across a Pikachu and of course I caught it! I can't be a Pokemon Master without a Pikachu!

I eventually made it to Pewter City. There I challenged the gym leader, Brock, and took down his Geodude with a little Kakuna, Metapod tag-teaming. Harden can be a very powerful move. When used with the poisoning effect of Kakuna's poison sting :) After I bored Geodude to death I took out his Onyx with my Mankey that I caught before I hit the forest. Not a bad battle.

Now its off to Mount Moon to catch me some Jigglypuff!!!

For the people who are not very familiar with the world of Pokemon I would like to inform you about the the Pokemon Metapod and Kakuna. Metapod and Kakuna are both evolved forms of Caterpie and Weedle, most Pokemon evolve into new forms as they gain levels. Both Catepie and Weedle are bug like Pokemon and they both evolve into the cocoon like Pokemon, Metapod and Kakuna. Unfortunatly since they are both cocoons they cannot do much except harden their outer shell. Which, in a battle, does no damage whatsoever. Luckily, I caught them when they were in their first stage, Caterpie and Weedle, so they already knew an attack move. So I had a slight advantage during these Harden battles, but it was still long and boring.
